Welcome

Welcome to the Mexico Safe Road Travel Board. We have introduced this board
for the specific purpose of helping road travelers.

Many of our readers have requested a forum that specifically addresses
safety and road travel in Mexico. This board is an attempt to meet those
demands.

We request you sign in. We do not appreciate boards where anonymous posters
rant freely and without responsibility. We are not here to discuss politics,
illegal aliens, free trade, Arizona laws or any other international issue.

We are here to discuss road safety and would appreciate everyone sticking to
the topic.

  1. Hi Bill & Dot good idea. I started a Mexico RV Forum last spring. I will put a link to this blog under the alerts section there.

BTW I am working on a Mexico camping POI file for the Garmin & MS S&T's. It will be available on that site later

  2. We plan to drive a loop around the Yucatan in November. When I go to the map/direction sites of Bing.com or Yahoo.com, and request the distance/driving time between Tulum and the ruins at Coba....both sites say 26 miles and 3 Hours!!! We drove this several years ago and it took less than 1 hour. The 2010 Fromers Mexico book says the road has recently been improved. So....what's going on and how long doew the trip between Tulum and Coba take now??? We can't believe it takes 3 hours!

  3. If it is of any use to anyone I have a map page up showing the location of all known RV Parks in Mexico (About 485 of them). This is derived from a POI file I built that I won't release due to the fact that 80% of it comes from the Church's book and they requested (0ver dinner) I don't. However, the overview map may be useful for determining the availability of camping along any route you wish to take. You can then reference their book, or the Bells site to locate them. There are many not in either source & I am making those clickable with the info bit by bit. The sub maps around Ensenda & Zihuantenejo are done.

    Find it at www.mexicorvforums.com/map.html
